The purpose of a notary is to witness signatures to be sure they are given freely. A notary can attest to the fact that no one was coerced or threatened into signing a document. The notary also confirms the identity of the signatories by reviewing evidence like a photo ID.

A Florida traveling notary can be very helpful in a number of situations. If you are selling your car, a house or anything of great value, you may need a notary to witness a written agreement. When settling family health matters with living wills and health proxies, a notary is needed before legal documents are filed with the court.

Commonly Notarized Documents

  • Quit Claim Deed – A Florida quit claim deed is used to transfer a Grantor’s interest in a real estate property with no guarantee of warranties.
  • Tattoo/Piercing Consent – Written notarization giving consent for the body piercing of a minor child.
  • Adoption Affidavits – Documents such as Affidavit of Nonpaternity, Joint Petition for Adoption by Stepparent, and Consent and Waiver by Parent and others.
  • DMV Minor Consent Affidavits – Parental Consent for a Driving Application of a Minor, Certification of Driving Experience of a Minor, Parent Proctoring of On-Line Driver License Testing by a Minor, and others.
  • Contractor Permit Application – An application made to obtain a permit to do work or installations on a property.
  • Passport Documents – Issuance of a Passport to a Child (Form DS-3053) – A statement of consent is needed when one or both parents are unable to accompany a minor under the age of 16 to apply for a Passport in person.
  • Business Contract – The Notary will verify the identities of the parties signing the agreement and attest to their signatures. This is especially helpful, for example, if there is a question of whether a party signed a document or not.
  • Divorce Petition – Example documents include Petition for the Dissolution of Marriage with Dependent Children or Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Affidavit.
  • Marital Agreement – There may be several affidavits that require notarization in a marital settlement agreement. These include the Family Law Financial Affidavit, Petition for the Dissolution of Marriage, as well as Answer to a Petition of Dissolution of Marriage.
  • And much, much, more!
